Endorsement for State Representative, District 4--Wade Gent

When I first started this website, I wanted to give fellow Republicans insight into parts of Betty Brown’s record and behavior that were likely to remain unknown.  Betty failed to give me answers herself, so I searched for them separately, and I thought it important to share what I had found:  additional information that would offer a well-rounded view of her candidacy—a clearer view than Betty would give.  It was never a secret I am voting against her, but at the time I didn’t have anyone else to vote for.  Now I do.

I thought long and hard about whether I should continue focusing solely on Betty’s record or instead include the issue of her newly registered opponent in the Republican primary.  After chewing on it for the past couple weeks, I decided on the latter.  It could seem disingenuous to reveal Betty’s weaknesses publicly, while ignoring the fact that I am supporting another candidate.  The website has always been dedicated to full disclosure, and I thought the motivations for the website could come into question if I didn’t address this issue.  The purpose of the website remains the same:  illuminating Betty’s record and activities, but on this page I’ll take a moment to make my position clear so that there are no worries about hidden agendas or unseemly alliances.

I am enthusiastically voting for Mr. Wade Gent for State Representative, District 4 in the March 4 Republican Primary.  I have contacted Mr. Gent (not about the website, but about his beliefs), and I agree overall with his conservative stance on issues facing Texas and District 4.  I think he has the experience necessary to be effective in Austin, and I believe that he has a sincere desire to serve the people because he realizes that constituents come first, not Austin lobbyists or political cronies.

His priorities are straight, and they reflect a fresh outlook in which conservative principles guide policy decisions .  Wade Gent is not a politician—he is one of us, something I think Betty forgot long ago.  I am not a member of Mr. Gent’s staff, despite what Betty’s political operatives might say, and I don’t plan to be.  I am simply a citizen who has found a candidate I like and for whom I am going to vote.
Mr. Gent did not authorize or have prior knowledge of this endorsement, and the reader can take it for what it is worth:  my personal opinion.

Betty has shown us how ugly politics can be—I think Mr. Gent deserves a chance to show us what it looks like when it’s done right.

In coming weeks, I have no doubt Betty and her consultants will try to make him out to be the boogey man, but having seen Betty's less-than-stellar record, I truly appreciate his willingness to give us a conservative voice reflecting true values.  I think it takes a man of courage to stand up against Betty's inevitable false characterization and innuendos.  She has a lot to lose, while I believe we have alot to gain if Wade Gent is elected.  I have made my own conclusions on the subject, and it's best if you make your own decisions.

Thank you for taking the time to look into the candidates.  Please remember to mark your calendars:  March 4 is the day to vote in the Republican primary.
